“We were very recently informed regarding the passing of Major General William “Bill” Acker, USAF (Ret), on 24 July 2018. Although not directly associated with our OFCMA group, we understand he was a great supporter of Clubs as commander at Lackland AFB. Some may remember General Acker if you ever visited Lackland AFB sometime around the mid-80’s. Coulter not only addressed Payne’s leadership but, also, presented him with special medals of appreciation for Payne’s service during the Korean Conflict.
